Iona’s got a great kids’ club setup called The Reef, which is split into different age groups so kids can take part in activities suited to them.
These clubs are designed to keep children of all ages entertained with creative, active, and interactive sessions. It’s run by trained staff (Reef Rangers) who keep things fun but also make sure everyone’s safe
For the youngest kids onboard, Iona has spaces designed just for them. Nursery (6 months – 2 years): A safe space for babies and toddlers, where parents can stay with their little ones and enjoy age-appropriate toys and games. The Night Nursery service runs late into the evening, giving parents some time to themselves.
For slightly older ones, Splashers (ages 2 to 4) is a bright, fun space with slides, toys, books, and arts and crafts – they even get to dress up.
For kids aged 5 to 8, there’s Surfers, which has a soft play area, computer games, films, and even puppet shows. They also run themed days like Pirate Day and ship-wide treasure hunts, which are always a hit.
For the 9 to 12-year-olds, Scubas offers a more laid-back space where they can play video games, air hockey, and pool, or just chill out with friends. There are also organised activities, but they’re not too structured, so kids can dip in and out as they like.
Iona’s got Scene, a dedicated Teen (13 – 17) hangout on Deck 6, well away from the younger kids’ clubs. It’s a chilled-out space with gaming consoles, TVs, PlayStation booths, bean bags, foosball, pool tables, and loads of board games. There are organised sessions like quizzes, karaoke, movie nights, and even trips to the sports deck, but there’s also plenty of free time to just relax and socialise. Teens need to be registered and book sessions through the MyHoliday app, but once they’re in, they’ve got their own space to hang out without younger siblings cramping their style.

Join themed crafts in The Reef children’s club with special character appearances, showings of Aardman films, dance sessions and more. Get a photo keepsake with the well-loved British characters and sit down together for story time.
The stage is set for family fun
Little ones (and their grown-ups) are sure to be captivated by our family-friendly theatre shows. The curtain will rise on traditional fun and frolics with Sooty and Sweep, amazing life-sized animatronics of The Animal Guyz and lots of laughs with Basil Brush. It’s the perfect introduction to theatre and a memorable holiday highlight.
Family zone
As a family with children of any age you’ll find all kinds of fun activities available throughout your holiday. Little ones love to laugh along with the cracking Aardman antics with characters Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. Our Academy workshops and shows inspire and excite. Together you can take part in family sports and discos, too. And for tumbling tiny tots under 4, soft play adventures await.
Ocean Performance Academy
Tots to teens and even the grown-ups are invited to Ocean Performance Academy workshops on board during school holidays. Come along and learn circus skills, dancing, drama and so much more. Join a unicorn workshop, sign up to superhero school, and enjoy pirate and dino-themed shows.
